Our University BSUIR, the Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radioelectronics (the former Minsk Radiotechnicks Institute) was founded half a century ago - in 1964. Today our University is training about 17 thousands of future engineers in 36 specialities in the field of computer science, microelectronics, radioengineering, communication, automated system of information processing, broadcasting, medical electronics. There are about 2250 teachers at the University - they are professors, doctors of sciences, academicians, candidates of sciences. There are 7 departments at our University: Computer Design Department, Information technologies and Control Department, Radioengineering and Electronics Department, Computer System and Networks Department, Evening and Correspondence Department, Economic Department. Today we have all the necessary facilities for teaching. Our laboratories are equipped with modern computers, up-to-date devices. The University has its own newspaper Pulse. There is a swimming-pool, a sport complex and the stadium. Our students practice basketball, volleyball, wrestling, gymnastics. University leaver is not just a great educated specialist, he is also comprehensively developed person with active social position. People with such mind are real patriots and can help Belarus in becoming wealthy;
